The cheapest way would be to use the public transportation, but it's a long and boring way. You will have to take the bus at terminal 1 or 2, travel to the final stop and then take the bus downtown. Both travels might take around one hour, and the price is 230 forint, which $1 and change. The best way is to take the airport shuttle which takes you directly downtown, it's more expensive (approx. $10) but is fast and hassle-free.
