There are a few ways to get from Vienna to Budapest and bus is pretty much the last option. They're not all comfortable buses and the times can be erratic at the border depending how many buses and cars hit at the same time. Anyway, the bus leaves from Nepliget station and takes around 3 hours and a half to arrive, not including the wait time at the Austrian border.
