Rest assured, I don't think you will find hotels in Budapest at hostel prices. It's pretty far from downtown, on Beethoven street in the 12th district. The easiest way to get downtown is by tram. The surroundings are nice,and you get to have excellent panoramic views over the Danube.You can hear the birds singing all day long and the air is so much cleaner here. A room is 30 euros and is clean, with basic furnishing, but comfortable.
